The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (lit. "Chain of Central Schools") is a system of premier central government schools in India that are instituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. As of July 2019, it has a total of 1235 schools in India, and three abroad. It is one of the world's largest chains of schools. Kendriya Vidyalayas are one of the best school chains in the world .
NAVODHAYA VIDYALAYA
ADMISSIONS
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) is a system of schools for talented students predominantly from rural area in India. They are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. JNVs are fully residential and co-educational schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, with classes from VI to XII standard. JNVs are specifically tasked with finding talented children in rural areas of India and providing them with an education equivalent to the best residential school system, without regard to their families' socio-economic condition.
NIOS ADMISSIONS
NIOS is "Open School" to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.
